Change of Priorities – Welcome Dante

The recent lack of updates (and temporary halt of the “in progress” project) is due to a simple reason, we got our long awaited Dobermann puppy on April 11th and he’s been calling for some (or rather much) attention since then. This means that most of my technical projects (and The Cheap Gourmand) are somewhat on hold for a while.
However, Dante (technically speaking Dobvoyage Fangs) and a recent trip to Tuscany have revived my interest for photography (and made me realize how lazy I’ve been lately) so I might just start to post some more photos instead.

Shoreline on Sandhamn

A piece of the beautiful shoreline on Sandhamn. The photo was captured in November which means that the low sun provided pleasant sidelight throughout the day. The warm yellow vegetation and cool blue sea provides good color contrast.

A portal found while walking around in Sandhamn in November 2008. No polarizer och blue channel tweaking was used, it was just a very beautiful day with a low sun and clear sky.
Kayman in Tortuguero

A small kayman spotted in the national park in Tortuguero, Costa Rica. Although Tortuguero is situated very close to the equator, I had to use a high ISO and relatively slow shutter speed due to the incredibly dense tree canopy above the river.
Sea Lion at SeaWorld

A sea lion at the SeaWorld in San Diego. This was one of the first photos I took with the Canon EF 70-200 F2.8 L IS lens and I was stunned by the contrast, detail and sharpness. One of my best investments ever.
